I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry, he lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and the mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord. Psalm 40:1-3
The path of the righteous is long and tedious and filled with tests of faith and patience. Have you ever looked back and noticed that in many trials they seem to turn around almost as soon as you fully put your trust in God? I firmly believe that the moment you truly devote yourself to God's will and prove your faithfulness is the moment that it starts to change.
God hears your cries and turns towards you. If you are truly waiting patiently your blessing is coming soon enough. And if you are truly trusting God the statements of these verses is true. For God has rescued us from the pit and out of the mud to bring us forward. He has called us to him and has planted us firmly on his rock. If God has brought you through anything you know that the relief and the blessing you receive after so patiently waiting is something that truly brings a song to your mouth. The pride you have in yourself for standing firmly thanks to God's hands and the gratitude and joy you experience after overcoming sometimes yourself to receive those blessings are indescribable. Remember that when you are sad and don't know how to phrase your prayer God already knows and we should work toward remembering that when our hearts delight in the joy God has given us even if we can't describe our praise to him he will still know. Try to describe your thanksgiving but don't become frustrated with yourself for if you delight in his word and continue to serve him then he will be delighted with your faithfulness. It should be our goal to continually condition our hearts so that they may pour out praise to God even when our mouths are quiet. We can condition our hearts to do this and to reflect upon Christ's love continually by putting his word in our hearts and striving to show Christ through our actions. Sing your praise to him and remind yourself how firmly you can stand when you trust and patiently wait for the Lord. He hears your cries for help and he surely hears your cries of praise. Dear Lord, We praise you for never ceasing to amaze us. We pray that everyday, regardless of situations that you will condition our hearts to sing out your praises. You are forever worthy and wonderful. Without you, we would be no where and we pray that when we come to you with troubles you will remind us of your wonder so that we never forget to praise you for all that you have done and will do in our lives simply because you love us. We glorify and magnify your name and thank you for the blessing of growing closer to you each day. Amen. |
