Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:30-31

We know that God is always our strength and even after having his wisdom revealed to us and even after knowing his love, the weight of the world can still fall on us and make us become weary. Even though we are given life in Christ and made to feel young this set of verses tells us that God knows we grow tired and weary. He knows we stumble and we fall and because he understands this, we can remind ourselves that it's okay to grow tired and we don't always have to be 100% to serve the Lord. Simply because we have doubts doesn't discount that we still have hope. Too often we are convinced that if we aren't 100% then we are 0%. Remember, God is the perfector of our faith and even when we are weary or tired he will renew our strength.

The fact that you become tired is another affirmation of the fact that you need God. The fact that you grow weary shows you how much you need the Lord and because you realize this you should seek him out. These verses promise us that if you reach out and hope in the Lord, he will renew your strength. He will perfect our faith and dispel the seeds of doubt. Even if we are young in Christ it's okay to grow tired so long as you don't just settle for being tired. Seek out God for more strength and he will renew it.

Not only will our God renew our strength because he understands our weaknesses, but the last half of the verse tells us that we will soar on wings like eagles. We will run and not grow weary. Think of your walk with Christ like running a race, simply because you're in fit physical shape doesn't mean you don't need pit stops to take a breather and grab some water. Just because your muscles ache doesn't mean you aren't any less of an athlete. In the same way simply because you are saved by Christ it doesn't mean you won't be made tired from time to time. And just because you stumble in your faith from time to time doesn't mean you aren't any less of a Christian because your faith muscle has grown a little tired. Instead of discounting what you are because of circumstances know that God sees when you get tired and will be there to renew your strength.

Everyday set aside time for pit stops with God where you go to him and ask him for the strength to get through another lap, another day because you've grown tired. He will renew your strength and will enable you to run again. You are not expected to run the race alone and it is when we are most tired that we are most able to put our trust in God and be delivered. It is when we are at our weariest that we are able to receive the hope of the Lord that will make us to fly on the wings of eagles again. Everyday that you go to the Lord for more water is another day where you will walk and not be faint.

Dear Lord,
We pray that you will rescue us from our tiredness and our weariness. We pray that you will help us not to get out simply because we get down. We pray that you will renew our strength in the same way that you renew your mercies every morning. Help us to get our hope back and to fly on the wings of eagles. We praise you for your continued strength and faithfulness. Renew our spirits and our minds so that we may praise your holy name for your faithfulness. We cannot do it without you Lord, Amen.
